LSOP in Action: NASTEMI 2024

We did a hands-on science program with approximately 200 students, and every student received a science-at-home kit full of awesome activities. In January, 2020, the CNS Little Shop of Physics team—funded by, and in partnership with B2Gold Namibia—took 1000 pounds of equipment to the south of Namibia for an 8-day workshop with 35 teachers. These events included 7 school/club and two public events which in total reached 12,000 people. This partnership also sponsored science giveaways for all 20,000 K-12 students that the Little Shop of Physics visited this year!
LSOP in Action: El Centro’s Math Science Tech Day
Check out LSOP’s participation in CSU’s for Math-Science-Tech (MST) Day, a fun-filled day with interactive STEM content (like the Little Shop of Physics!), admissions information, CSU student mentoring, and cultural programming. It’s a good chance for us to partner with our colleagues in the Native American Cultural Center, a wonderful opportunity to support this amazing event, and it provides a chance for the kids taking part in the powwow to get up, get moving, and do a bit of science exploration.

LSOP in Action: Fort Washakie School 2017
During the first week of October, LSOP visited Fort Washakie School on the Wind River Reservation. All 500 students got to spend 45 minutes exploring our 100+ hands-on science experiments.
Solar Eclipse
On August 21, 2017 a total solar eclipse swept in a thin arc across the country, and a partial eclipse was viewable across almost the entire continental United States. This also happened to be the first day of the 2017-2018 academic year, and students all over Colorado State University took a break from their studies to watch this rare celestial event.
