26th Annual Open House
The 26th Annual Little Shop of Physics Open House was our biggest event yet! An estimated 8,500 people of all ages came to the Colorado State University Lory Student Center to spend their Saturday doing science. The event featured the 300+ science experiments which make up the Little Shop of Physics Hands-On Science Experience, as well as interactive presentations and spectacles. Open House was organized by Physics Department faculty and staff, and run by over 100 CSU undergraduate interns and volunteers.
Additionally, there were rooms and presentations from CSU on-campus Science Partners, including the Colorado State Astronomy Club, the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, the Microbiology Department, the Department of Biomedical Sciences, and the Department of Health and Exercise Science. Additionally there was a room sponsored by CenturyLink in which engineers discussed the science of telecommunications with related hands-on experiments nearby; and Miles, the Denver Broncos mascot even made an appearance!
Thank you to everyone who came out!
It’s going to be a challenge, but the plan is for next year to be bigger and better than ever. Please join the Little Shop of Physics on Saturday, February 24, 2018 for the 27th Annual Open House.
